NRG Shipping Software Upgrade Requirements for FileMaker 14/15

If your shipping files were provided to you by NRG after 5/15/15, you are already FileMaker Pro 14/15 ready. IF NOT, you must upgrade your NRG shipping system. It's critical that you follow the steps below, in the order that they are outlined.

STEP 1

Upgrade NRG Files

Upgrading your NRGship files is required to ship with FileMaker Pro 14 and above.

If your current NRG files are hosted on FileMaker Server, you will need to close them and move them to a workstation in order to upgrade them to our latest files.

Follow the upgrade instructions closely for your version of NRGship.

NRGship FedEx for FileMaker

NRGship USPS for FileMaker

NRG Ship Connect

Once completed, put the upgraded NRG files back on FileMaker Server and open them.

Now you can move on to Step 2

STEP 2

Install new NRG Plugins

DO NOT INSTALL if you have not upgraded your NRG shipping files as you will disable shipping on older versions.

The newest plugins have 64-bit support that is required for FileMaker Pro 14 and above.

You must install the new plugins on any workstation that you use NRG to validate addresses or ship, rate and track packages.

IMPORTANT: Before installing you must quit FileMaker Pro on the workstation. If FileMaker Pro is running during the installation process you will need to quit and re-launch the application.

The Plugins are installed in your user FileMaker extensions folder and will replace any older versions.

New plugins are backward compatible for Filemaker 11, 12 and 13. If you plan to continue to use an older version of FileMaker after installing these plugins, you will need to delete the older NRG plugins that located in FileMaker Pro application extensions folder for that version.

Download for Mac

On Mac's the FileMaker Plugins are installed in your user FileMaker extensions folder and will replace any older versions. (Macintosh HD/Users/[User Name]/Library/Application Support/FileMaker/Extensions)

Download for Win

STEP 3

Test NRG Workstations

A. Verify Plugin Installation
Open FileMaker Pro and look in the preferences to ensure that plugins are present and enabled.

If they are not present or you are seeing the older plugins, you likely had FileMaker Pro open when you installed the plugins. Close Filemaker and run the installer again.

B. Test Validation & Rating
Open your shipping files and create a test shipment where you can validate the address and get shipping rates.

If you get any plugin errors, something went awry with the plugin installation. Revisit the steps and if you are certain that the plugins are installed correctly, Contact NRG Support

C. Print Shipping Label
If your shipment does not provide a label, visit our printer troubleshooting articles.

For Windows users, you may need to recapture the printer.

Mac users may need to add the printer again in system preferences.
