When using NRG's UPS Shipping Software with a Zebra ZP-450 printer, you may experience flawed labels due to old firmware on your printer.
The steps below are provided as an FYI and are not supported by NRG Software support.
Mac Upgrade
Note: The Zebra printer must connected directly to the Mac to update the firmware. It cannot be connected to the network (e.g. cannot be connected to a network print server, it must be directly connected via USB).
1) Download the support kit from nrgsoft.com: http://www.nrgsoft.com/support/assets/zebra450_61_17_5Z.zip
2) Unzip the downloaded file
3) Copy the file V61.17.5Z.zpl to the root of the hard drive
4) Open Terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal) and enter the command below:
/applications/zebra2844 /V61.17.5Z.zpl After you enter this command in Terminal, you will see the printer power indicator light blink and flash, and then it will do the calibration, then flash again. This process takes about 10 minutes. Once complete, your printer firmware is updated and you can delete the update file from the root of your hard drive.
Windows Upgrade
Note: The Zebra printer must be connected directly to the PC to update the firmware. It cannot be connected to the network (e.g. cannot be connected to a network print server, it must be directly connected via USB or parallel port to the PC).
1) Go to Zebra.com and download the latest firmware file and ZDownloader software for the GK420D.
