We recently did a project where weather data needed to be overlayed onto a map. We couldn't find any public APIs which would return "Weather Channel" like maps with locations plotted so we leveraged Google Maps and the OpenWeather API to produce a map showing only locations which have snow warning or advisories. Weather data is updated every 4 hours automatically so that the map is always current. Selecting a location shows more detail including contact information. Recently we received a Kublet Data Tracker from a Kickstarter Project that we supported.  These are super neat stackable and magnetic devices that can display simple dynamic data. Using a server-side script that runs periodically on FileMaker Server you can perform a query for the necessary data and then invoke Insert From URL with a simple GET request (http://192.168.35.147/update?value=25&name=Pending%20Orders) to update the display data on the device. Working with a DataLogic reseller, NRG Software has provided installation and configuration support for Matrix 320 stationary scanners. By implementing barcode scanning above a motorized roller, proper order fulfillment can be verified without the need for hand-scanning. With the Matrix 320, the scan engine can be programmed to scan only specific barcodes on a package.
