In January 2026, UPS ended support for the authentication method used in older builds of NRGship. Because of this, customers will be unable to view rates in these older versions of the software. The fix is to update to a current release of NRGship.
Since June 2024, NRG Software has supported UPS’s new OAuth login to connect NRGship with your UPS.com profile. The article below explains the process for each of our solutions. As always, contact NRGship Support if you need assistance!
macOS versions like 10.15 (Catalina) stopped working properly with UPS.com and FedEx.com for basic features like tracking.
We highly recommend updating to macOS 13 (Ventura) for any Mac released since 2017. You can find more information on supported hardware for macOS Ventura on the Apple website.
The latest macOS 26 (Tahoe) release last fall requires a Silicon Mac or one of the last 2019/2020 Intel Macs. We do not recommend updating to macOS 26 at this time.
We do not recommend updating older Intel Macs to newer OS versions like Sonoma, Sequoia or Tahoe as these versions are meant for newer Apple Silicon Macs and performance and compatibility will be degraded.
As always, check compatibility with other applications that you use before updating.
NRG Support utilizes TeamViewer for Remote Support. Older macOS versions will require a legacy install for proper operation.
In NRGship Pro for UPS you can easily duplicate an outbound shipment to create a return label. You can also create ad-hoc labels as needed. Return labels can be used in a variety of ways.

UPS Print Return Label – These can be printed at the time of an outbound shipment and included with your shipment. These can also be used to create PDF files which you can email directly to customers.
UPS Electronic Return Label – A label will print locally however your customer will get an email which provides options to print a label or show a barcode at a UPS Drop Off Location for labeling.

UPS Print and Mail – UPS will mail a label to your customer
UPS Returns Plus (Call Tag) – A UPS driver will be dispatched for package pickup and he will provide the customer with a label.
UPS Exchange Print Return Label – UPS delivers a replacement item and picks up a like item for return during the same visit. Requires a contract. Contact your UPS representative to learn more about this return option.
UPS Pack and Collect Service – A customizable service that gives you complete control over a return. Schedule the returns collection at a designated location and time frame. A UPS driver will then arrive with UPS-provided packaging and collect the item to be returned. You even have the choice of one or three collection attempts, depending on your needs. Requires a contract. Contact your UPS representative to learn more about this return option.
Contact the NRG Support team if you have further questions on processing return shipments from NRGship Pro for UPS.
macOS 26, also known as Tahoe was released on September 15, 2025. Tahoe is is a free update from Apple. It will run on most any Mac with Apple Silicon processors and some 2019 (and later) Intel processor Macs. NRGship for UPS, NRGship Pro for UPS and NRGship Pro for FedEx have been tested under Tahoe however we highly suggest users wait to upgrade to ensure compatibility across all installed applications. For customers using NRGship with FileMaker, please check Claris Website for any issues.
Over the years we’ve had many requests for the ability to see UPS delivery photos inside of NRGship. We’re pleased to announce that we’re the first UPS Ready® solution provider to offer this functionality. Previously, you’d have to open the tracking link for UPS.com to view the photo which would be available for a limited time. Many customers then archive that photo for proof of delivery. With this new functionality it’s all contained directly in NRGship Pro for UPS which provides easy access.
UPS Track Alert also notifies immediately on delivery without the need to constantly track shipments. This can greatly reduce overhead of internal systems which use excessive resources for this task. It also improves customer service efficiency since the most recent shipment history is available.

Customers using NRGship FM for UPS can leverage UPS Track Alert webhooks directly in their solution files by using a custom webhook endpoint. Check out this support article for more details on using webhooks with Otto from Proof+Geist.
For more information on UPS Track Alert please check out our Service Overview.

With the recent changes to UPS SurePost® services, UPS Mail Innovations® (MI) is a cost effective alternative to standard UPS services. Previously, there were limitations where NRGship could not provide contract rating for MI shipments but new functionality has been provided as part of our UPS Ready® partnership allowing NRGship to display these rates. This allows NRGship to provide accurate rate comparisons across all UPS service offerings.

For more information on UPS Mail Innovations please contact your UPS Sales rep. To enable MI contract services in NRGship please contact NRG support.
