NRG supports iDimension scanners

To further assist shippers with carrier dimensional rating, NRGship now supports dimensional scanners from Rice Lake Systems. By simply pressing a button in NRG, package weight as well as dimensional sizes are auto-populated to facilitate accurate rating and shipping.

NRGship supports FileMaker Pro 14

NRG Software is excited to announced that the current releases of all NRGship products are compatible with FileMaker Pro 14. Existing installations of NRGship UPS for FileMaker and NRGship FedEx for FileMaker will require updates. Customers using NRG Ship Connect should email sales@nrgsoft.com for upgrade information.

NRG nows supports WooCommerce

Users of WooCommerce, the most popular WordPress eCommerce plugin can now ship seamlessly with NRGship Pro for UPS. NRGship can download new orders in a single batch or individually by invoice number. Post-shipment, orders can be marked as completed. Additional plugins like the WooCommerce Shipment Tracking Extension are supported for posting of track numbers.

NRG supports CubiScan dimensional scanners

Dimensional weight – the carrier rules which use package volume instead of weight alone are destined to become the norm in 2015. Currently dim weight is only used for ground packages greater than 3 cubic feet so carriers don’t loose money on light large packages. Dm weight is calculated by multiplying a package’s length x width x height, and then dividing by a standard dim factor, normally 166. The carrier then bills whichever is greater.

To assist shippers with the new dimensional rules, NRGship now supports dimensional scanners like the CubiScan 110 and 150. By simply pressing a button, the packages weight as well as dimensional sizes are entered into NRGship to facilitate efficient rating and shipping.

NRGship to support FileMaker Pro 12

NRG is in the process of testing current versions of our products for compatibility with the public release of FileMaker Pro 12. Pre-release testing has shown no issues, however we would like to err on the side of caution as shipping is such a critical function for many organizations. During the holiday shipping season we often hear from NRGship customers who are being featured on television or on lists for must-have products. So I started to think about a blog posting listing our rock-star customers and their products but decided to highlight our first customer, Cliff Stoll from Acme Klein Bottles. Cliff is a TED-talker and may be best known as the guy who brought down a KGB hacker in the 80’s. He’s been shipping Klein Bottles with NRGship since 2004 and still uses one of the first versions:
